Mia Welsh pony 14.2hh

Mia is backed to ride although she needs a confident rider. Her owners were in the process of bringing her back into work with the help of a trainer but unfortunately they had to return to the UK.

Mia needs a regular work routine as she can be bolshy. When her current owners took her on her feet were really overgrown as the previous owner was scared of her kicking but with lots of help from the farrier and the trainer, this is now under control.

If Mia is kept in the field she is ok barefoot but ridden she must have front shoes. Travels ok, can be tricky for the farrier but with patience and kindness, she soon realises that it’s not so bad.

Mia has come on so well. Her owners used to have to sedate her to put shoes on but that is not needed anymore. Mia can be left alone as long as she can see others. She lives out all year with a rug in the winter. She is not kept in the stable but does in as and when needed.
